The next Digimon World game, Digimon World Re:Digitize is set for release in the summer of 2012. A Jump magazine leak reports this and other bits of news on the game, relayed via Tale Tale Source.

In a previous trailer, we saw that Digimon die and are reborn, just like in the very first Digimon World. In Re:Digitize, you may have a choice: you can allow your Digimon to be reborn, or you can choose to save your Digimon’s data in a Digimemory (a reference to Season 6, Xros Wars). Tale Tale’s wording is vague, so we aren’t sure if you can do both.

It is also unclear whether this works like a storage system where you can pull out the Digimon you want, whenever you like, or if this is an item that you can use to power up your new Digimon with stats and previously learned attacks.

You can hold up to 5 Digimemories.

Update: Season 6 was Super Xros Wars, not Season 5. Whoops!
