Konami have rolled out a neat feature in Japan that allows arcade gamers to save their game progress to their mobile phones and pick up where they left off, the next time they play.

This is an extension of an existing Konami service called e-Amusement, which, through a special card, allows for a custom ID that lets you compete against other arcade gamers in rankings and also access special arcade events.

The mobile service will kick off from mid-November with Mahjong Fight Club Ultimate Version and Baseball Heroes 2010 Winner. Konami expect the service to lead to an increase of arcade gamers.

In addition to e-Amusement, Konami also offer another arcade service named "Paseli," which allows for more flexible pricing in arcade games. You can read more about this here.
