Samurai Shodown Director Hayato Konya shared more details in a special video message:

Samurai Shodown on the Xbox Series X/S will support 120FPS gameplay. It’s also worth noting that Smart Delivery is enabled for Samurai Shodown, so if you’ve purchased the game for the Xbox One, then that means you already have the updated version that will be headed to the Xbox Series X/S. All of your DLC and save data will be transferrable from Xbox One to Xbox Series X/S version as well.

SNK announced the upgraded Samurai Shodown for Xbox Series X at Tokyo Game Show 2020. The game was first released for the PS4 and Xbox One in June 2019. It started with a base roster of 16 playable characters and has added eight more via DLC in Season One and Season Two passes. Season Three is currently in development and set to debut around mid-March 2021, starting with Cham Cham. It will also include Hibiki Takane from The Last Blade series and more unrevealed characters.

Samurai Shodown is immediately available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC via Epic Games Store, and Google Stadia.
