Today is a big day for SNK news! Not only did we get an update on when we’ll all see The King of Fighters XV next, but we know when Samurai Shodown Season Pass 3 characters will be revealed. Both will show up on January 7, 2021.
The Samurai Shodown announcement came at the end of the KOF XV video released today. SNK Producer Yasuyuki Oda appeared at the 4:45 mark to talk confirm that the Season Pass 3 characters would be announced that same day. He said both a character from The Last Blade and another unrevealed person would be shown.
We first learned about Samurai Shodown Season Pass 3 back in July 2020. At the time, we had no idea who might show up. But then, alongside announcements of a port of The Last Blade: Beyond the Destiny for the Nintendo Switch and a The Last Blade webcomic at Tapas Media, we learned that a The Last Blade character would join the game. We don’t know who that new fighter might by, though Oda did mention during that video that it is “someone the fans absolutely adore.”
Samurai Shodown is available for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Google Stadia. An Xbox Series X version is in development.
