Sakura Wars Hidenori Matsubara Art Exhibit to be Held in Japan

A Sakura Wars art exhibit is opening in Japan through April and May 2021. The exhibit will feature paintings by Sakura Wars character designer Hidenori Matsubara. A total of three exhibits will be held throughout Japan, with locations planned for Tokyo, Osaka, and Nagoya. [Thanks, Famitsu!]

The Sakura Wars Art Festival 2020 will feature several events and include special merchandise attendees can purchase at the individual exhibits. Additionally, Matsubara will be present for a live Q&A section, as well as an autograph signing. More information about the exclusive merchandise will arrive at a later date.

The dates for the exhibit at the following locations are as follows:

  • Tokyo: April 29 – May 1, 2021
  • Osaka: May 14 – May 16, 2021
  • Nagoya: May 28 – May 30, 2021

Details regarding the opening times for the individual days of the exhibit are available through the official Sakura Wars Art Festival 2020 website. During this period, attendees can look at illustrations and paintings that have been created for the Sakura Wars series. This includes over thirty pieces of original artwork created by Matsubara.

In December 2020, a Sakura Wars stage play was held. This included a variety of singing and dancing acts. The stage play itself was based on the events in the Sakura Wars PlayStation 4 title.
