Here’s the announcement from the Final Fantasy XIV official Twitter account.

During the first few chapters, the members of the Kiyosumi High School mahjong club begin playing Final Fantasy XIV on the advice of the club president. This special prominently features elements such as getting used to the controls, learning about the game’s many activities, and learning how to play the in-game mahjong minigame.

Saki follows the story of Saki Miyanaga, a high school girl who gradually discovers the fun of mahjong by joining the competitive scene at the invitation of a classmate. Both chapters 0 and 1 are free to read at Manga Up right now online on PC.

Final Fantasy XIV positioned itself as a platform for online multiplayer mahjong. As an example of the ongoing support in this area, Square Enix holds a mahjong tournament every year with special guests, such as Producer and Director Naoki “Yoshi-P” Yoshida for the 2022 edition.

Final Fantasy XIV is available on the PC, PS4, and PS5. Players can unlock the in-game mahjong at level 15 in the Gold Saucer. The Saki & Final Fantasy XIV collaboration manga is currently available via Manga Up.
