Ryoma Hino in Captain Tsubasa Rise of New Champions

Ryoma Hino Has Joined Captain Tsubasa: Rise of New Champions

Bandai Namco has published a new trailer for Captain Tsubasa: Rise of New Champions to mark the releases of the second DLC character batch, which features Ryoma Hino, Shingo Aoi, and Mark Owairan. It also showed the new free update that added Nankatsu as a school of choice for the New Hero. [Thanks, Gamer!]

Just like the first batch which added Stefan Levin, Ricardo Espadas, and Singprasert Bunnaak in December 2020, today’s new characters play major roles in the World Youth arc of the franchise. Mark Owairan is the captain of the Saudi Arabian national team. Shingo Aoi joins the Japan Youth team after proving himself in the Italian Campionato Primavera. The Japanese-Uruguayan player, Ryoma Hino, gets called to help Ramon Victorino’s Uruguay Youth team after training with Real Japan 7.

Although the English Twitter account introduced the new DLC characters on February 17, 2021, it did not mention exactly when the characters would be available. The Japanese account, however, never mentioned them and hadn’t published a press release until the DLC’s release today.

Bandai Namco also released a free content update that allows the New Hero to join Tsubasa Ozora’s Nankatsu Middle School. Choosing the school also comes with a new twist in the storyline, as Tsubasa must undergo a separate rehabilitation program. The player-created avatar will then fill in his spot to compete in the new tournament with Tsubasa’s teammates.

According to the update roadmap published at Tokyo Game Show 2020, Bandai Namco plans to release the third DLC character batch — the last one to be included in the Character Pass — in Spring 2021.
