Rune Factory Oceans on the Wii/PS3 is slated for a February 24th release in Japan, and Marvelous released a new character trailer for the game this week, giving a glimpse of the game’s bachelors and bachelorettes.

Like Rune Factory 3 on the Nintendo DS, Oceans allows you to dual-wield weapons. A preview at Gpara lists Twin Swords, two-handed swords, spears, hammers, axes, Iaidou swords and staves as available weapons in the game.

Weapons also have Rune Abilities that can be used in combat to do greater damage than conventional attacks. Some of these look like they were inspired by shounen anime, like the Rapid Spike ability, performed using spears.

Rune Factory Oceans also appears to have some sort of masked mystery man who ties into the game’s story and appears before protagonists Azel and Sonia several times. It isn’t clear just yet if he’s evil or not, as his identity is shrouded in mystery.
