Ahead of Rune Factory 5, XSEED Games will bring Rune Factory 4 back again. This time, it’s spreading to new platforms. As part of its E3 2021 surprise announcements, the company confirmed that Rune Factory 4 Special PS4, PC, and Xbox One versions are on the way in Fall 2021.
This now means Rune Factory 4 Special has quite a wide reach. The action-RPG with life sim elements first appeared on the Nintendo 3DS in 2012. Each player finds they are suddenly a “prince” or “princess” sent to help a town. That means tending a farm, helping people, fulfilling requests, exploring dungeons, and beating bosses. It was developer Neverland’s final game. However, even so, Marvelous eventually revived it as Rune Factory 4 Special on the Switch.
The “special” part of Rune Factory 4 refers to an array of added content. The game offers updated graphics and an additional difficulty level. You can also eventually unlock a Newlywed Mode for an extra story with your chosen spouse. It also ended up getting extra Another Episode DLC that lets you go through a brief story with each of the Rune Factory 4 Special romance options.
Rune Factory 4 Special will head to the PS4, Xbox One, and PC in Fall 2021. It is immediately available on the Nintendo Switch.
