Rumor: Possible Sonic Movie Images Could Show A New Version Of Sonic

This article is over 5 years old and may contain outdated information

Images of a possible new look for Sonic the Hedgehog for the Sonic movie have appeared online. These alleged pictures of the character show a look that is more in line with his cartoon, comic, and video game appearances. However, no official word has come in suggesting these could be real yet. For now, a Twitter user going by BestInTheGalaxy has shared the pictures, then claimed in a later tweet that they were supposedly from “a friend in [sic] Paramount Studios.” (The movie’s actual distributor is Paramount Pictures.)

Here is the original tweet. It is important to note that there are some image inconsistencies even between these two possible images, though it does appear that there may possibly be a new picture of Jim Carrey as Dr. Robotnik in the background behind Sonic in one. Sonic has his white gloves and red and white shoes in both pictures. However, in the second image, his ears do look different.

sonic movie redesign 2 It is important to stress that this could be a fake image. There have been no updates from the official Sonic the Hedgehog movie Twitter account since April 30, 2019.

The first Sonic the Hedgehog movie images began appearing online in December 2018 and March 2019. The first official trailer, set to Coolio’s “Gangsta’s Paradise,” showed up in April 2019 and led to massive fan outcry. The Sonic movie was then delayed to February 2020, in order to redesign Sonic.

The Sonic the Hedgehog movie will be released in February 2020. His official redesign has not yet been shared.
