A quarterly report from Toyo Keizai says Falcom has plans to develop Nintendo 3DS games and plan on bringing the popular Trails series there.
The report is only available to subscribers, but a snippet says the Trails series has been restricted to PSP, but in the next fiscal term it will go on 3DS and other platforms. A smartphone version of Trails in the Sky is in the works with Aeria Games acting as the publisher.
Recently, Falcom licensed The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Zero to Kadokawa Games who are making an enhanced PlayStation Vita version with Patapon developer Pyramid. Interchannel Holon also worked with Falcom to bring Ys I and Ys II to Nintendo DS. Perhaps, this is what Falcom is planning to do?
The report also says Falcom will diversify by making more PC and smartphone titles too.
