Root Letter: Last Answer, the updated version of the visual novel about someone tracking down an old penpal who went missing, has its worldwide release dates. PQube will bring it to Europe on August 30, 2019. Then, a few days later, it will appear on September 3, 2019 in North America.
In addition to the release dates, a special edition was announced. A Root Letter: Last Answer Day One Edition will be available for the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4. This version will include a physical copy of the game and a 100-page art book. It will only be available to people who preorder or purchase the game immediately when it launches (while supplies last).
As a reminder, Root Letter: Last Answer follows the player as they return to Shimane to search for Aya Fumino. The two of you were penpals in high school, but the letters stopped and she seemingly disappeared. Your finding a letter spurred you on to go to her hometown to search for her. As you investigate and look back at old letters, you gradually find out possible outcomes. The updated version has new story segments and epilogues, as well as an option to switch to live-action scenes.
Root Letter: Last Answer will come to the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 in Europe on August 30, 2019 and in North America on September 3, 2019. It is immediately available on the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation Vita in Japan.
