People won’t just get to see the Beheaded enter Dracula’s castle and face the vampire while meeting people like Richter Belmont and Alucard in Dead Cells. The add-on will also give people a chance to be the Belmont. When the Dead Cells: Return to Castlevania DLC appears, it will also bring with it Richter Mode. This changes the playable character to the original slayer.
When people opt to play as Richter in Dead Cells, he will play as he did in the original Castlevania games. That means relying on his whip, unlocking abilities like High Jump, and destroying candles to get hearts, and acquiring sub weapons.
Here’s the full Dead Cells: Return to Castlevania DLC trailer for Richter Mode. It referred to this mode as a “secret level.”
This add-on first came up during December 2022’s The Game Awards. At the time, it only mentioned the Beheaded adventure’s in Dracula’s castle. Enemies and allies from the original Castlevania will appear. Also, while in this area people will see 14 weapons to use pulled from that game.
Dead Cells is available on the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and mobile devices, and its Return to Castlevania DLC will appear on March 6, 2023.
