When it comes to Re:Zero related projects, the series’ artist often isn’t far behind. Shinichirou Otsuka is known for celebratory and official art for new projects, such as illustrations celebrating the anime’s first and second season announcements. Now, Spike Chunsoft shared his Re:Zero: The Prophecy of the Throne key art created for the game.
Here’s the full picture. In it, Otsuka has captured both major and minor characters from the series. For example, the focus is on Emilia’s supporters, as we have Subaru Natsuki walking with Emilia and Rem, one of her maids. However, in the background we can see Melty, the new heroine who is Emilia’s competition.
If Otsuka’s art looks familiar, you might be thinking of his work for Conception. He did character designs for both the original game and its sequel. Otsuka was also responsible for the character designs for the anime series Granblem.
Re:Zero: The Prophecy of the Throne will appear in Winter 2020 on the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PC. There will be a standard edition and $89.99 collector’s edition that includes an art book, soundtrack, and set of pins.
