Resident Evil Village Japanese Voice Actors Revealed

Resident Evil Village is closing in on its May 2021 release, and Capcom is getting its global promotional engine revved up. Key to that is revealing more about the game’s characters and casting, which of course includes voice and performance credits. The official Twitter account recently confirmed four key Resident Evil Village Japanese voice actors.

Of the Resident Evil Village Japanese voice actor quartet, three probably won’t be a surprise to longtime fans. After all, Chris Redfield, Ethan Winters, and Mia Winters are all by now familiar names.

Hiroki Touchi will return to voice Chris Redfield, as he did in Resident Evil 6. Touchi is also a veteran performer, who did the Japanese voice of Uncharted‘s Nathan Drake, Assassin’s Creed‘s Desmond Miles, and Fate/Extra‘s Twice H. Pieceman. He’s also active in anime, where he voiced Panther Lily from Fairy Tail and Gundam 00‘s Lasse Aeon.

Hidenobu Kiuchi also returns to play Resident Evil Village‘s protagonist, Ethan Winters. Kiuchi is also an anime veteran, and played Hei from Darker than Black, Cheng-Long Liu from Blue Exorcist, Hol Horse from JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders, and Monster‘s Kenzou Tenma.

Akari Higuchi provides the voice of Mia Winters, Ethan’s wife. Her resume’s a bit thinner, but Japanese players of Life is Strange may recognize her as Victoria Chase. The bigger surprise, however, is reserved for Resident Evil Village‘s breakout character, the 9-foot-tall Lady Dimitrescu. She will be played by legendary voice actress Kikuko Inoue. With a career spanning more than thirty years, Inoue’s played more roles than can be recounted easily, but some of the highlights include Oh! My Goddess‘s Belldandy,  Guilty Gear‘s I-No, The Boss from Metal Gear Solid 3, and Code Geass‘ Cecile.

Resident Evil Village will release on May 7, 2021 on the PS4, PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series, and PS5. Purchases will also include a multiplayer game titled Resident Evil Re:Verse.
