Earlier this year, Capcom announced that Resident Evil: Revelations for the Nintendo 3DS would be released sometime in early 2012. You can make that very early 2012 — Revelations is slated for a U.S. release on February 7th, 2012.

As previously reported, Resident Evil: Revelations takes place between Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 5, and its goal is to combine the post-Resident Evil 4 controls with the scarier feel of the older PlayStation games.

Gamestop have a pre-order bonus for Resident Evil: Revelations. If you pre-order the game from them, you get a 3DS cover with an image that changes in the sunlight (see below). You can watch the latest in-game footage of Resident Evil: Revelations here.

Like Capcom’s other major Nintendo 3DS titles, Resident Evil: Revelations will be distributed by Nintendo of Europe in European territories. The game will release in Europe on January 27th. NOE mention that the game is compatible with the second Circle Pad, but provide no details regarding availability or price.
