Capcom released the Resident Evil Requiem demo on all platforms, and it includes a trial of the main story that lets us sample both the Grace Ashcroft and Leon S Kennedy sections. Both third and first-person perspectives are also available to test. However, this is a slice of gameplay and, as such, doesn’t allow people who test it out to create a save file that could be used in the full version of the game.
This Resident Evil Requiem demo takes someone through a part of Grace’s story first, before following that up with Leon’s. In her case, we see her wake up alone and in a strange care center building. As she explores, she finds she isn’t alone. A monster is stalking her, and she’ll need to find the items necessary to proceed through a locked gate while evading it.
Once the Grace segment is finished, the Leon portion begins. It starts with him coming to the same care center where we already saw she’s being held. After a bit of exposition, we see him dealing with a number of infected with his guns and melee weapons. This also offers an opportunity to see how enemies might grab the equipment, like chainsaws, dropped by prior foes for attacks.
This comes after a free update appeared for the game earlier in May 2026. That added a Leon Must Die Forever mode.
Resident Evil Requiem is out on the Switch 2, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC, and a demo is available on all platforms.
