In keeping with the cavalcade of Resident Evil 3 remake information, Capcom has just released a special developer message video about the game starring Producers Masachika Kawata and Peter Fabiano. Specifically, Kawata points out that since this entry is more active than Resident Evil 2, the development team “remade everything based on that premise.” This includes Jill and Carlos’ redesigned looks, which swaps her tube top for a tank top and makes Carlos look “more rough around the edges.”

The over five minute video sets the stage for the upcoming game, which will include the solo Resident Evil 3 campaign and one versus four Resident Evil: Resistance multiplayer experience. Kawata confirmed that a Resident Evil 3 remake had been requested by fans for quite a while. After setting the stage, the two go over important elements. For example, they talk about Jill Valentine and show footage of her in the city as she fights zombies and works to get a train working. Like Resident Evil 2, it will have an over-the-shoulder perspective for shooting. Then, they move on to talk about characters like Carlos and Nemesis. As fro Nemesis, they specifically note how he has more ways to track Jill than Tyrant.

After that, Kawata and Fabiano talked about Resident Evil: Resistance. This is the asymmetric multiplayer game where one person is the Mastermind and the other four are Survivors. The Mastermind sets enemies and obstacles, while the Survivors attempt to overcome them.

The video ends with a look at the Resident Evil 3 Collector’s Edition. It shows off the Jill statue, then puts it alongside the Leon Resident Evil 2 Collector’s Edition statue.

Resident Evil 3, with Resident Evil: Resistance, will launch on April 3, 2020 on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
