Marvelous’ farming series Bokujou Monogatari (Harvest Moon) is coming to the Wii and instead of pushing buttons to care for the field you use the Wii Remote as a multipurpose tool. If you want to cut grass you swing it side to side. To plow you shake the remote up and down and you can water plants by tipping the remote like if you were holding a water canister. Sure this makes the game more realistic, but it also sounds a lot like work. Real work that you could be doing if you go outside. Maybe some fans are going to love virtual grass cutting, but I don’t know if I want to wave the controller around to cut a field. Perhaps more games should go the Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 2 route and have an option for the Gamecube controller too.
