Ubisoft announced they will bring Rayman Origins to Japan, but that’s not what’s interesting. When Rayman Origins comes out on April 12 it will retail for just 2,500 yen ($32). The price is the same for all three platforms: PS3, 3DS, and Vita.

That’s really cheap.
For comparison’s sake Soulcalibur V for PS3 is 8,380 yen ($110) and a Greatest Hits copy of Demon’s Souls is still 3,800 yen ($50). Resident Evil Revelations costs 5,990 yen ($79) and Mario Kart 7 is a bit cheaper at 4,800 yen ($63). PlayStation Vita titles like Gravity Daze and Tales of Innocence R are 5,980 yen ($79).
Rayman Origins might set a record for budget launch pricing in Japan.
