SMT V Naga Raja Kali

Raja Naga and Kali in SMT V Hail From Hindu Mythos

The two demons from SMT V that Atlus introduces us to today are Raja Naga and Kali, which are both figures from Hindu mythology. They are also demons that have appeared in various other Atlus works, such as previous SMT games or the Persona series. Kali is a member of the Femme race, while Raja Naga is, unsurprisingly, a Snake.

In his SMT V introduction video, Raja Naga shows off the various elements he can wield in combat. Aside from Ice Breath, he can also use Shock Bound. At the end of the video, the Nahobino notes that he seems to be in a good mood due to the new moon. This is due to the moon phase system that appears in other Shin Megami Tensei games.

Like her mythological counterpart, Kali in SMT V is a destructive force. She can use powerful physical attacks, as well as handle Dark and Fire elements. Unlike Raja Naga, her trailer focuses solely on her combat prowess. At the end of the Kali video, the silhouette depicts Norn’s unmistakable shape.
