A new introductory trailer for R-Type Final 2 has been released by Granzella, as part of the game’s marketing push for its Kickstarter, which is set to last one week.
Check it out below:
The Kickstarter aims to get $416,152 (converted from yen) as funds for developing the game, which will have 10 or more unique stages, as well as new stages planned for after launch.
Meanwhile, stretch goals for the game adding more subtitles, as well as (more interestingly) funds to add in homage stages based on certain stages from previous R-Type games. For production to include all 102 R-craft that were available in R-Type Final, it will take up to $2,500,000 in stretch goals; the project itself at its most base form will only account for several tens of R-craft.
Additionally, a social media campaign is also being held, and each of the milestones met below will result in a new original decal being made available for everyone:
Other interesting new tidbits regarding the game include that Zeal DoQMaL, consisting of the duo of Takayuki Iwai and Yuki Iwai, will be working the game’s soundtrack. Previously, they worked on R-Type Final, R-Type Tactics, R-Type Tactics 2, and more.
R-Type Final 2 is in development for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PC via Steam. You can find the game’s Kickstarter page here, the game’s Twitter page here, and Facebook page here.
