Visual novel Solstice, now available on Steam, has players investigating the disappearance of a local person from a “magnificent city in the middle of a frozen wasteland, cut off from the world by raging blizzards.”
Solstice features a system that indicates when a player decision creates a divergence in the story. This, combined with the game’s story shifting due to decisions in who to talk to and when, is meant to create weight in the player’s actions, showing them the things they will not be able to discover due to what they have done.
