Qingque in Honkai: Star Rail is a Tricky Unit to Play

Qingque in Honkai: Star Rail has a fairly unique play style that can be divisive. Unlike most other characters in the game, her kit requires luck in order for players to maximize her damage potential. However, with the right Light Cones and Relics, as well as strategic usage of her Technique and Skill, Qingque can be a very rewarding character to use.

As mentioned earlier, there’s an element of luck in Qingque’s kit due to her jade tile mechanic. Every turn, she gains a tile. When she gets four of a kind, how much damage she deals with her Basic ATK increases. Her Basic ATK also becomes AoE, and will not recover any Skill Points. Her Technique lets her draw two more Tiles when battle starts, and her Skill lets her draw more. Whether you get four matching tiles or not using these methods depends on your luck. However, after using her Ultimate, she will get four matching tiles the next turn.

Here are the best Light Cones to use on Qingque in Honkai: Star Rail:

  • Before Dawn
Jing Yuan’s signature Light Cone has a fantastic passive ability that increases the wearer’s Crit DMG, Skill DMG, and Ultimate DMG. Qingque doesn’t have any follow-up attacks, but she can definitely make use of an overall DMG increases. It’s a 5-star Light Cone, which means it has great stats as well. Unfortunately, its limited availability can make it hard for some players to get.
  • Today is Another Peaceful Day
Since this Light Cone features Qingque, it’s easy to imagine that this is the best one for her right now. It increases how much DMG she deals based on her Max Energy. Qingque’s Max Energy is 140, which is currently one of the highest in the game. So she is actually the best character to make use of this Light Cone.
  • Make the World Clamor
This Light Cone regenerates Energy for Qingque at the start of battle, as well as increases how much DMG her Ultimate deals. Qingque’s Ultimate is really good in allowing her to quickly assemble four matching tiles so you’ll want to use it pretty often, especially if you’re not particularly lucky.
  • Geniuses’ Repose/The Seriousness of Breakfast
Both of these Light Cones activate when you defeat an enemy. Geniuses’ Repose increases the wearer’s Crit DMG and The Seriousness of Breakfast increases their ATK. Which one you use depends on what you put on other characters, as well as how your Qingque’s stats look with her Relics.

Here are the best Relics to give Qingque in Honkai: Star Rail:

As a side note, every DPS or sub-DPS character can use Space Sealing Station or Musketeer of Wild Wheat. They increase the wearer’s ATK and SPD, which makes them very generically useful if you don’t have good Relics in other sets. When choosing Relics for Qingque, prioritize her SPD, Crit stats, and ATK. She will basically have to be your DPS because she can hog so many of your Skill Points, so build her with that in mind.

  • Genius of Brilliant Stars
This is the best Relic Set you can give Qingque because it increases how much Quantum DMG she does, as well as ignores DEF when she hits an enemy. This helps her deal a lot of DMG even when she’s not in Cherry on Top mode.
  • Thief of Shooting Meteor
This is not as good for Qingque as Genius of Brilliant Stars. But she can still make good use of it because she’s a Quantum character. Thief of Shooting Meteor increases Break Effect, and the 4-pc can regenerate Energy when she inflicts Weakness Break.
  • Celestial Differentiator
Celestial Differentiator increases the wearer’s Crit DMG. When the wearer’s Crit DMG is over 120%, it can increase their Crit Rate by 60% until the end of their first attack. Since Qingque’s Crit stats are absolutely necessary to make her a viable DPS, this is a fantastic Planar Ornament Set for her.

Honkai: Star Rail is readily available on mobile devices and Windows PC. A PS5 version is in development. A copy of Qingque is available for free, and she is a permanent fixture in the gacha as a 4-star unit.
