Neko Entertainment has published Leikir Studio’s hardcore 2D bullet hell platformer Isbarah on Steam for Windows, Mac, and Linux.

In it, you play as the goddess Iria who is the weapon and shield of her father who rules his kingdom with an iron fist. If anyone breaks his laws then Iria is the one who dishes out the punishment. However, Iria exists only in the realm where human dreams and nightmares roam. And so she fights the creatures that they think up, known as The Designed, across an ever-changing landscape.

As Iria is alone in fighting an onslaught of weird and awesome enemies (including giant bosses, of course) she has three abilities that you’ll want to make effective use of to keep her alive. These are slow-motion, dash, and The Barrier. The first two are self-explanatory, but the third lets you create a shield or platform to either protect Iria from projectiles or to climb higher.

“Players will need to fully understand the boss patterns. It’s built on smartly managing your powers and using them wisely to survive – everything in our game involves dodging and making smart movements,” writes developer Leikir Studio.

In total, Isbarah has 18 fights with three difficulty modes to master, and 90 unlockable items. It also has a story told with short comic strips between levels.
