Virtual Console has been getting little love this year, but not today because Pulseman is out. Game Freak, the development team behind Pokemon, made Pulseman for the Sega Genesis almost fifteen years ago just for Japan. The platformer is finally available in North America via the Wii Shop channel.

Pulseman is the result of a science experiment gone awry. After falling in love with a C-Life artificial intelligence program Dr. Yoshimaya uploaded his DNA to a computer which created Pulseman. Somehow this also resulted in the birth of Dr. Waruyama, a whacked out version of Dr. Yoshimaya. Now it’s your job as Pulseman to put a stop to Dr. Waruyama by shocking and diagonal volt tackling your way to victory.

Pulseman costs 900 Wii Points ($9), which includes the 100 Wii Points ($1) import game surcharge. Secret Command aka the European version of Rambo: First Blood II is another Sega import taken from the Master System. It costs 600 Wii Points ($6).

Other titles available for download today include Bit Boy!! (600 Wii Points), Incoming! (500 Wii Points), Ant Nation (! 700 Wii Points), and Brain Challenge for DSiWare (800 DSiWare Points).
