As a crossover promotion Sony blended their PlayStation Network title Mainichi Issho (Everyday Together) with Minna no Golf 5 (Hot Shots Golf: Out of Bounds) to create a downloadable PlayStation 3 game. Minnya no Putter Golf looks like a decent extension of the Hot Shots Golf franchise too.
In this mini-game Jasmine and Toro, the Sony cat, tee off in a homemade putt putt course which can be accessed via Mainichi Issho. While Mainchi Issho is free Minnya no Putter Golf is not. You need to pay 600 yen ($6) for the expansion. Minnya no Putter Golf was a clever way for Sony and Clap Hanz to reuse existing assets. The game also has an equally clever pun for a title. The onomatopoeia for cats in Japan is “nya” and this is mashed together with Minna which is Japanese for everyone. Since this promotion has the Sony cat I wouldn’t count on it coming out in any other regions, but Hot Shots Golf fans can get access to it with a handy dandy Japanese PlayStation Store account.
