PS Remote Play DualSense Compatibility Added for Android 12

People playing on Android devices will have more options when taking advantage of PS4 and PS5 remote play options. Sony announced the latest update allows an additional controller to be used. If someone has Android 12 running and the PS Remote Play app, they can now use a PS5 DualSense controller with it. As a reminder, PS5 support was added to the app back in October 2020.

With mobile versions of the application, what controllers you can use depend on your device’s firmware. So with Android, there are now three options. If someone is using Android 7, all they can use are on-screen controls. Once Android 10 is available, the PS4 DualShock 4 could be used too. Now that this update came through, the DualSense can be used PS Remote Play on Android too.

This means only one PS Remote Play option isn’t compatible with the DualSense. A person can’t use an iOS device with it. Instead, they can only use a DualShock 4 or, in some cases, on-screen controls.

The PS Remote Play application is available for the PC, Android devices, and Apple iOS devices. People can also use the feature while on a PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5.
