This past weekend, Bandai Namco announced that Project X Zone, the RPG featuring Namco, Capcom, and Sega characters, is getting a sequel. Said sequel is being released in the West this Fall, too. Crazy, isn’t it?

Maybe not, actually. In their press release, Bandai Namco say that they’ve shipped 400,000 copies of the original Project X Zone worldwide. That’s a figure most Japanese role-playing games can only dream of. So, with that in mind, perhaps the fact that we’re getting another Project X Zone isn’t so crazy after all.

Like the first game, Project X Zone 2 will be developed by Nintendo-owned Monolith Soft, makers of Xenoblade and Xenoblade Chronicles X.
