Project Athia’s Official Title Will Be Forspoken

The Square Enix Presents March 2021 stream ended with a look at Project Athia. Except it isn’t known as Project Athia anymore, as the full title of Forspoken appeared during a new trailer. We also learned about Ella Balinska’s role in the game.

The Forspoken portion of the presentation started with Balinska speaking about the game. She revealed she will be the voice actress behind the star, Frey Holland. She spoke a bit about her experience with the game. Then, she introduced its new trailer and teased its name.

Here’s the new Forspoken trailer. It shows off Balinska as Frey. We get to see her close encounter with a dragon, then watch her interact with and talk to some sort of robotic voice. As a reminder, we previously learned Gary Whitta would be leading its writing team. However, this look at the game is more focused on Frey and doesn’t look at the procedurally generated, open world elements.

Forspoken, formerly Project Athia, will launch in 2022 on the PlayStation 5 and PC. This falls somewhat in line with a CES 2021 video that suggested a 2022 window for the game. Its official Twitter account and Facebook page are now open.
