Princess Peach Showtime Demo Lets Her Be a Swordfighter and Patissiere

Nintendo released new information about Princess Peach Showtime alongside a free demo. The trial involves two of the new “roles” Peach can take, the Swordfighter and Patissiere.

The first performance you and Peach get to take on in the trial is the Swordfighter. She needs to rescue a king in a castle from enemies and thorns in the sample stage. The Patissiere stage sample appears as well and shows how baking can help against baddies. It seems no demo data carries over and this is a self-contained sample.

Alongside the demo, a new trailer appeared to help introduce the game. It begins by showing the magical girl-style transformation sequence that leads into her donning one of her new roles at the Sparkle Theater. After that, it shows how both the Princess Peach Showtime demo and game begin. While attending the Sparkle Theater to see a show, Grape and the Sour Bunch took over everything. Peach loses her crown, though her Toad attendants recover it, and she is separated from her companions and left trapped inside the theater.

Peach then must work alongside the theater guardian Stella to go through stages to save the trapped performers and guests, defeat Grape’s minions, and restore everything to normal.

Princess Peach Showtime will come to the Nintendo Switch on March 22, 2024. The free demo is live now.
