One of the biggest themes of Destroyer Trillion is to train your Demon Lords so that they can do enough damage to take down the massive boss, Trillion. In addition to the roguelike training dungeon, the official website shows another way that you’ll beef up your characters.

When Demon Lords continue with their training, after a certain amount of time passes, a trial simulation fight called the “Umpire of Darkness” activates.

The Umpire of Darkness is basically a dummy “Mokujin” of Trillion, so that you can test out your latest character growth, along with your new equipment, just to see how you’ll fare against Trillion for the next fight.

Since you’ll train during the times Trillion is dormant, you’ll need to use your time wisely, and getting practice, even if it means fighting an imitation of the main antagonist, can make a world of difference.

As shown in the above image, the fight against Mokujin is pretty much identical to the Trillion fight, and it is practically just as strong. This fight also uses the “Defense Line” so you’ll waves similar to Trillion.

Mokujin might not be a perfect imitation of Trillion, but it’ll do its best to copy the same moves, along with motion notices when using special skills.

In addition to the training you get from the Umpire of Darkness, the battle gives you plenty of cash and other bonuses, which vary depending on how you score in the fight, so you’ll want to take advantage of these fights whenever they’re available.

Destroyer Trillion will release in Japan on May 21, 2015 for PlayStation Vita.
