The latest Pokémon Shuffle update is now live, and it adds a variety of new content including a new mechanic called the Skill Guage, used to make Pokémon abilities stronger. [Thanks, Serebii.]
The Skill Gauge is a new mechanic that basically lets you fill up a little gauge through various methods. The first is through Skill Powers in some stages like the Groudon stage. You can also fill it up with new items called Skill Booster items.
The update also adds new challenges to Pokémon Shuffle. The Electivire Event has begun and it’ll run until May 31, 2016. Additionally, the newest Pokémon Safari has also started, and this one features Drowzee, Hypno, Frillish, Jellicent, Elgyem, Beheeyem, and Mesprit. Bringing the Pokémon with you in the Safari results in more coins spawned during disruptions. This event will also run until May 31, 2016.
The Groudon stage is back until May 31st, and you can get a Skill Booster for beating the stage. The Wobbuffet item stage is also back until May 31st. And finally, the Daily Pokémon #4 has begun a repeat, featuring Daily Pokémon Challenges with different Pokémon available each day. It features Wynaut, Torkoal, Zangoose, Luvdisc, and Seviper. This will run through, you guessed it, May 31st.
Pokémon Shuffle is available for Nintendo 3DS, iOS, and Android devices.
