The final announcement made during Nintendo’s Pokémon Direct had to do with the revival of an old installment. Pokémon Gold and Silver will be coming to the Nintendo 3DS Virtual Console on September 22, 2017. That is the same day Pokkén Tournament DX will debut on the Nintendo Switch.

As is common with the Nintendo 3DS Pokémon Virtual Console releases, Pokémon Gold and SIlver will both receive Pokémon Bank support. However, the announcement does not specify if they will be compatible with the Pokémon Bank at launch.

Pokemon Gold and Silver originally launched on the Game Boy Color in Japan in 1999, coming to North America in 2000 and Europe in 2001.
