A Pokemon-themed traditional Japanese craft exhibit will appear in Tokyo, Japan. The event is known in English as “Pokemon x Kogei – Playful Encounters of Pokemon and Japanese Craft.” People will be able to visit the exhibition at the Azabudai Hills Gallery starting in November 2024, and it will run through January 2025.
The exhibition will feature around 70 Pokemon-related craft works. They will range from simple reproductions of the creatures with materials like copper to artistic expressions, such as jars blended with the Pokemon’s shapes. The Pokemon featured will come from not only the first-generation entries Red, Blue, and Yellow, but also from subsequent generations, such as Seedot, Goomy, and Shaymin.
The craft exhibits will not be the only things people can enjoy at the venue. They will be able to participate in a stamp rally that rewards one of the three holographic stickers featuring the Japanese craft Pokemon. In addition, several cafes located in the same building will also sell exclusive snacks and drinks with Pokemon-themed packages.
This will not be the first time this exhibition appeared, though. Japan House Los Angeles held an event with the same title and displayed works from late July 2023 until early January 2024. The Pokemon Company had also previously held the event in the Japanese prefectures of Ishikawa, Shiga, and Shizuoka.
The “Pokemon x Kogei – Playful Encounters of Pokemon and Japanese Craft” event will take place at the Azabudai Hills Gallery in Tokyo, Japan. It will run from Friday, November 1, 2024, until Sunday, February 2, 2025.
