YouTube user dang pham uploaded a new video from the Pokémon Unite beta. The footage likely comes from the closed beta held in China. The video shows off gameplay, a full match, menus, and Pokémon customization with cosmetics.
The leaked video is about 14 minutes of footage. Given that all the menus are in Simplified Chinese, the gameplay is likely from the closed Pokémon Unite beta held in January 2021. Fans can get a look at the UI during matches and the snappy menus outside of battle, complete with nostalgic sound effects. Among the customizable outfits in the video, we got a glimpse of a luau Machamp, ready for when the sun’s out with its guns out. We also saw a Charizard in a scarf and a beanie hat. Unfortunately, it isn’t clear whether Charizard is ready for a brisk walk in Autumn or an ironic VHS viewing party.
Other leaked images from the Pokemon Unite beta show additional cosmetics. We’ve seen a pirate-themed Scorbunny, a Sir Aaron version of Lucario, a children’s TV host Mr. Mime, and even a snorkeling Garchomp. The new multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) is a collaboration between Tencent, TiMi Studios, and The Pokémon Company. The game does not have a release window at the time of this article.
Pokémon Unite will release on the Nintendo Switch, Android, and iOS devices.
