Last year, Nintendo collaborated with Marvelous AQL to develop Pokémon Tretta, an arcade game where you collect “Tretta” (pictured above).

You scan your Tretta into the machine to call out the appropriate Pokémon, and then partake in a 3-on-3 battle once you’ve picked your party. If you win, the game gives you a new Tretta to add to your collection and use.

Now, Pokémon Tretta is headed to the Nintendo 3DS. The 3DS game is titled Pokémon Tretta Lab for 3DS, and is also being developed by Marvelous AQL. A Tretta reader device will be shipped for the game, although details on how the game works or differs from the arcade version aren’t available yet.

Pokémon Tretta Lab for 3DS is slated for release on August 10th for 3,800 yen.
