The Pokemon Company has announced that it is delaying the global PC open beta and Canadian mobile soft launch of Pokemon TCG Live. It will instead hold both the open beta and soft launch in 2022. More information about specific release windows and testing dates will come at a later date.
According to the company, the main reason for the delay is to continue polishing the game. Furthermore, it adds that any Pokemon TCG Live branded code cards received prior to the game’s launch are still usable in Pokemon TCG Online.
To provide Trainers with a more polished experience, the Pokémon TCG Live mobile soft launch in Canada, and global open beta for desktop, have been shifted to 2022.
We’ll have more to share soon on timing for both this testing period and the full launch of Pokémon TCG Live.

Once Live launches, players will be able to transfer their Online accessories, such as deck boxes and card sleeves, to the new game. Some cards such as the McDonalds Happy Meal and HeartGold & SoulSilver Series cards will not carry over. In-game currency, unopened packs and items, as well as saved decks and friend lists will also not transfer to Pokemon TCG Live.
During the official Pokemon TCG Live reveal, the company revealed that the Pokemon TCG Online would shut down prior to the new game’s launch. The company has not specified whether this new delay will affect the sunsetting of Online.
With the delay, the Pokemon TCG Live global PC open beta and Canadian mobile soft launch will move to 2022. The Pokemon Company will release further information about specific dates in the near future.
