eBay’s Japanese branch added that the Pokemon Trading Card Game series had seen a massive popularity surge in recent months. It had a 655% increase when compared to the same quarter in 2020. The series also recorded a three-digit percentage growth for three consecutive quarters since the October – December 2020 quarter.

Other than Pokemon, an item related to Attack on Titan also made its way into the latest quarter’s top 5 list. The May 2021 issue of Bessatsu Shonen Magazine, which contained the title’ final chapter, made it to 3rd place. Health supplements and skincare gels completed the top 5 rankings.

Eevee Heroes was originally released in Japan as an enhancement to Silver Lance and Jet-Black Spirit, the Pokemon TCG expansions collectively localized in the West as Chilling Reign. The Western localization will instead include the new Eevee-related cards in the upcoming expansion Evolving Skies, which is set to launch on August 27, 2021.

The Pokemon Company is currently holding a lottery where 3,000 players can win promotional VMAX cards of Eevee’s first-generation evolutions: Flareon, Jolteon, and Vaporeon. The lottery is still open in Japan until September 30, 2021.
