As mentioned above, some of these Max Raid Battles will be exclusive to either Pokemon Sword or Pokemon Shield. Players will only be able to catch Gigantamax Charizard and Garbodor in Sword, and Duraludon and Copperajah can only be found in Shield. So if you are looking to collect the these special variants, you will want to partner up with players in online co-op that own the respective versions of the game.

Sword and Shield will be receiving its Mythical Pokemon sometime in the future. However, this Pokemon is currently only obtainable through pre-ordering tickets to the latest Pokemon film. Shiny Celebi is also part of this promotion and fans who are able to grab tickets for the screening of Pokemon the Movie: Coco will be able to grab both. There is currently no word when the Mythical Zarude will come to international audiences.

Pokemon Sword and Shield are immediately available for the Nintendo Switch.
