Pokemon Pikachu and Eevee-Themed Cakes Will Appear in Japan

Ginza Cozy Corner revealed that it will produce and sell cakes inspired by Pikachu and Eevee from the Pokemon franchise. The latter will also include all eight Eeveelutions that have appeared as of the ninth-generation games Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. Pre-orders for are immediately available in the company’s physical outlets across Japan, but it will only start actually selling the cakes on April 12, 2024.

The Pikachu Choco Banana Cake featuring will be available to purchase on its own for 745 yen (~$4.99). The Pokemon franchise mascot’s cake will contain chocolate cream sandwiched between two sponge cakes with banana cream decoration on its top.

The Eievui Friends Collection—named after Eevee’s official Japanese romanization spelling—will contain nine cakes in a package. The set will be available at 3,132 yen (~$20.65).

Here are the descriptions for each cake in the Eeveelution set:

  • Eevee: Chocolate & caramel whipped cream tart
  • Flareon: Apple-flavored whipped cream tart with apple jam
  • Jolteon: Tropical mousse with pineapple jam
  • Vaporeon: Lemon soda-flavored jelly
  • Espeon: Strawberry whipped cream cake
  • Umbreon: Chocolate cake with banana whipped cream
  • Leafeon: Pistachio-flavored sponge roll cake
  • Glaceon: White chocolate whipped cream cake
  • Sylveon: Yoghurt-flavored mousse and strawberry-flavored sponge cake

The Pikachu Choco Banana Cake and the Eeveelution-themed Eievui Friends Collection set will be available for sale in Japan from April 12, 2024 to May 31, 2024. Sales may end earlier if the stocks have run out.
