The next Pokemon title, Pokemon Legends Arceus, will be an open world adventure set in the Sinnoh Region. Players will be transported back in time to experience the Sinnoh Region in a feudal era. Additionally, various starters from different regions will be available to select from in Pokemon Legends. This information was revealed during the Pokemon Presents broadcast held to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the series. It will launch in 2022.
Viewers were given a look at what the world will have in store for them. As mentioned previously, this game is set in the Sinnoh Region and will feature an entirely new version of locales players may otherwise be familiar with. This game will explore various legends during this specific era within the Pokemon universe.
Players will be able to select from Rowlet, Cyndaquil, and Oshawott as their starter Pokemon. You will be tasked with creating the Sinnoh Region’s very first Pokedex, and will be able to engage in battles against other trainers. The player will have a home base at their resident village. Development is currently in production, with the developers hoping to create a “breakthrough title” with this new entry.
A remake of Pokemon Diamond and Pearl was also announced during the broadcast. The remake will feature all new visuals, and a system that will display all of the information on a single screen.
Pokemon Legends Arceus will arrive on Nintendo Switch worldwide in early 2022.
