The wooden doll will be available at 17,600 yen, but there are some uncertainties about its international availability. The Japanese fine print noted that this doll is unavailable overseas due to licensing restrictions. However, the website supports international deliveries via WorldShipping, which lists the doll with a converted price of $117.42.

Dratini, which is known in Japan as Miniryu, is a Dragon-type Pokemon that debuted in the series’ inaugural titles, Pokemon Red and Blue, in 1998. The Dratini evolution line has continued to grow in popularity over the years and was even featured in the latest Gen 10 Pokemon Scarlet and Violet games. Dratini’s final evolved form, Dragonite, was even recently appointed as an ambassadorial Pokemon to help promote tourism for Japan’s Fukui prefecture.

Dratini is not the first Pokemon that Mataro Doll has made a wooden doll of. The manufacturer had previously released dolls of Pikachu, Eevee, and Buneary. It also produced wooden dolls of Kirby from another Nintendo-related IP.

Mataro Doll will release the wooden Dratini doll on November 1, 2023.
