These restrictions include the use of “internet play” in Pokemon Sword and Shield and restrictions of the exchange function in Pokemon Home. The Pokemon Company will review these cases and if the data is deemed to “cause problems with the operating software, applications, or cause inconveniences to other players” users can potentially be suspended from using the Pokemon Home service entirely.

The website also mentions that they will continue to investigate this issue regularly. Additionally, The Pokemon Company states that other methods of restriction may be implemented without further notice. The Pokemon Company finalizes the statement by saying they will continue to regularly monitor this situation to assure that users have enjoy Pokemon Sword and Shield, and the Pokemon Home service with peace of mind.

In September 2020, it was announced that Pokemon Home would finally support Pokemon GO. The Pokemon Home service allows users to transfer Pokemon between games, and in this case mobile apps. Two different service plans are available, the the Premium plan offering more features to users.

Pokemon Sword and Shield is immediately available for the Nintendo Switch. Pokemon Home is available for Android and iOS users.
