Pokemon Capsule Toys Show Off Tail Whip

Takara Tomy Arts will start selling capsule toys of Pokemon that look like they are using Tail Whip. Each attempt will cost 200 JPY (~$2). They will appear in capsule toy machines in Japan from December 2021. The Tail Whip series will feature five Pokemon: Pikachu, Squirtle, Alolan Vulpix, Eevee, and Yamper. [Thanks, Hobby Watch!]

This is the first line of a new set of Pokemon capsule toys that Takara Tomy Arts has labelled “move snap.” Each series will show off the Pokemon using a move from the games. In this case, the Tail Whip Pokemon toys show the five using the move Tail Whip. Tail Whip is usually one of the first moves in a Pokemon’s repertoire, and it lowers an enemy Pokemon’s defense.

Takara Tomy has released many different lines of Pokemon capsule toys in the past. Just earlier this year, the “Lots of Gengar Collection” and the “Shoulder Nap” collection appeared in capsule toy vending machines around Japan. Aside from gacha items, you can also purchase ‘real’ Pokemon toys such as a robotic Piplup that reacts to your voice.

The Takara Tomy “Tail Whip” Pokemon collection of toys will appear in machines in Japan from December 2021. Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl are available on the Nintendo Switch worldwide.
