Pokemon Anime Short Celebrates Arbok for Year of the Snake

The Pokemon Company has released an animate short on Lunar New Year to celebrate the Year of the Snake. The Pokemon anime short appropriate features Ekans and Arboc, two snake Pokemon that first appeared in Pokemon Blue and Red.

The short features a handful of both Ekans and Arboc, with some of their shiny variants also appear, in a forest – possibly the Veridian Forest from Pokemon Blue and Red. Snivvy, another snake-like Pokemon, also appears very briefly.

2025 has started off with more than a handful of new Pokemon merchandise for consumers to purchase. This includes a Build-a-Bear exclusive Yamper plush, another series of UNIQLO exclusive Pokemon Sketch t-shirt. This included shirts featuring Mimikyu, Pikachu, Umbreon, and Meowth.

In March 2025, a Gyarados-themed playground will be set up around the Pokemon Center Hiroshima. It was announced in January 2025. However, Gyarados won’t be the only Pokemon appearing at the themed playground. Other Pokemon that will be included in the installation are Magikarp, Bulbasaur, and Psyduck.

The latest entry in the Pokemon series, Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet, are available on Nintendo Switch.
