Sony revealed the first round of Instant Game Collection titles for 2021. As is common for the “new normal,” people will get two PlayStation 4 games and one PlayStation 5 game starting on January 4, 2021. This time, people get Greedfall, Maneater, and Shadow of the Tomb Raider.
Maneater is the PlayStation 5 version of the open-world game where you control a shark and try to make them as strong and menacing as possible. By, you know, destroying and eating everything. The game first launched on the PlayStation 5 back in November 2020 and normally costs $39.99. Only the PS5 version is part of the PlayStation Plus January 2021 update, but normally buying a copy at the PlayStation Store gets you a PS4 and PS5 copy.
Greedfall is an action-RPG. Players follow a merchant named De Sardet who can determine whether to help the people on an island defend their home from settlers or join with potential colonist groups to take control of and settle it. It launched back in September 2019 and normally costs $49.99.
Shadow of the Tomb Raider is the third entry in the Tomb Raider reboot line and concludes the trilogy’s story. Lara Croft is still dealing with Trinity and trying to thwart the group’s plans, with the efforts this time taking her to the fabled city of Paititi. The action game originally launched on the system in September 2018. The Definitive Edition is temporarily on sale on the PlayStation Store for $14.99.
People can add the December 2020 PlayStation Plus games to their libraries until January 4, 2021. Greedfall, Maneater, and Shadow of the Tomb Raider will be available as part of the PlayStation Plus January 2021 lineup starting on January 5, 2021.
