Piczle Cross: Rune Factory Is Another Picross-like Nonogram Game

There’s a new Rune Factory game on the way, but this one is a Picross sort of nonogram puzzle one called Piczle Cross: Rune Factory. It will come to the Nintendo Switch and PC in 2025, and the Steam page is already live.

Piczle Cross: Rune Factory has aesthetics based on the most recent release, Rune Factory 5. That means the main protagonist avatars we see on-screen as we solve puzzles. It seems this one adds a new “battle” option for puzzles that involves fighting and “capturing” monsters. There will also be collage puzzles. When going through these, you need to complete an unspecified number of puzzles that are all parts of a greater whole. As you go through and unlock things, you can decorate your background.

A first trailer is already live for the game, so we can see what it will be like solving nonogram puzzles involving characters, creatures, crops, and monsters from Rune Factory.

This isn’t the only Bokujou Monogatari game to join the Piczle Cross series. Back in February 2024, Piczle Cross: Story of Seasons debuted. That was inspired by the older farming games and involved piecing together puzzles to recreate characters, animals, and crops.

Piczle Cross: Rune Factory will come to the Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam in 2025.
