Ichiro Sugiyama, the producer of Photo Kano and Kimi Kiss is working on a new smartphone game called School Star Dream by Kadokawa, announced in this week’s issue of Famitsu magazine.
School Star Dream is an upcoming title that will let you enjoy various episodes depicting young idols working towards their dream of becoming idols. You’ll get to see them go from young elementary school students to high school girls.
The magazine introduces us to five idols, and shares details on how the story progression and rhythm game parts work.
Update: Hachima has provided us with additional information on the game.
As you advance through the game, it goes from elementary, middle, to high school, and you’ll get to graduate through them as part of the “School Entrance Class Change.” Even if you graduate to the next level of education, you’ll get to revisit the previous world [school] for fun.
The player takes on the role of a manger. There are two categories for the rhythm game that are dancing & choreography, or singing & rhythm. The game characteristics change depending on the mode and music, and the singing voice changes when you’re in elementary, middle, and high school eras.
The characters are designed by Peco. Here’s a list of the heroines:
- Kumi Marikawa (CV: Azumi Waki)
- Kusunoki* Fujimura (CV: Sarah Emi Bridcutt) *can also be read as “Nan”
- Kotomi Tsukumo (CV: Rui Tanabe)
- Shizuka Kanzato (CV: Reina Kondo)
- Yuika Fuyuki (CV: Natsumi Hioka)
School Star Dream is in development for Android and iPhone.
