In addition to wishing everyone a Happy New Year, Phantasy Star Online 2 producer Satoshi Sakai recently blogged about what is planned for the year ahead. Besides finishing off Episode 2’s final storyline and tying up loose ends, spring will see the full launch of Phantasy Star Online 2 es, the smartphone version of the game. Phantasy Star Online 2 es concluded its closed beta earlier in 2013.
There are several new events in store, such as an Arcs Coalition Festival that players can partake in this month. Around March, there’ll be new updates including a team up with legendary mangaka Mamoru Nagano, who’s done work on Heavy Metal L-Gaim, Five Star Stories and more. No guesses what sort of update that might look like when we’re in the PSO2 universe. And yes, the 2nd anniversary of the game will come with a mega splash, they promise.
Don’t forget that Phantasy Star Online 2 will finally be in English some time this year… in Southeast Asia. Thus far, Sega have not announced just when the game is coming to North America and Europe.
